Of course November is all about Thanksgiving and the kick-off to the holiday season, but there are plenty of other things to have you celebrating this month.
National American Heritage Month is celebrated throughout November. Three places to visit to honor the Native Americans would be a The Great Spirit Path in Menlo Park, California (camp at Thousand Trails Morgan Hill); the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, in Vonore, Tennessee (camp at Pigeon Forge Landing RV Resort); or Cabot’s Pueblo Museum in Desert Hot Springs, California (camp at Thousand Trails Palm Springs).
November 13 is Guiness World Records Day so a visit to the Guinness World Record Museum in San Antonio, Texas is in order. The museum has it all – plenty of interactive exhibits, fun facts and paraphernalia and even some options to set a record yourself! Stay at Thousand Trails Medina Lake if you’re planning to visit the museum.

National Fast Food Day is November 16 and there are several fast food original flagships to visit when camping with us. If you’re camping at Pine Mountain RV Resort in Georgia, head into Atlanta (a little over an hour’s drive) to see the original Chick-Fil-A, which opened its first location in 1997 in the Greenbriar Mall. If Jamba Juice was a favorite of yours, you’ll be happy to know that the original Jamba Juice storefront, which opened in 1990 under the name Juice Club, is still in business. If you’re camping at Thousand Trails San Benito in nearby Paicines, head into San Luis Obispo for a nice smoothie!
Celebrate butter on National Creamery Day and plan a visit to the Tillamook Creamery where you can take a self-guided tour and buy some of their famous butter as well as sample their fabulous cheeses! Plan a camping stay at Thousand Trails Pacific City to visit one of the Oregon Coast’s favorite attractions.

November 24 is National Sardines Day and there’s no better place to celebrate the sardine than in Monterey, California, the “Sardine Capital of the World.” Visit https://canneryrow.com/ to get a map for a self-guided tour of Cannery Row where all the sardine canning happened in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Book a stay at Marina Dunes RV Resort to be near Monterey.
The man who brought us everybody’s favorite beagle, Snoopy, Charles Schulz was born on November 26, 1922. In honor of his birthday, make a visit to Santa Rosa, California which is not only home to the Charles M. Schultz Museum and Research Center but is also home to several statues depicting our favorite Peanuts characters. Thousand Trails Russian River is the closest California campground to Santa Rosa.
