Where to Camp and Cast a Line with Dad

Taking a fishing trip with Dad this summer is a great idea. To make it even better, combine it with a camp stay with us at one of our waterfront campgrounds.

Alabama:

Camp at Thousand Trails Hidden Cove and you’ll have the opportunity to fish on the largest lake in the state of Alabama. The campground is adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake which covers over 20,000 acres. Word has it that not only is the lake big, but so are the striped bass and catfish that reside here!

Florida:

Imagine the opportunities for anglers on the gulf. Fishing all day, every day! Book a stay at Fiesta Key RV Resort in Layton. Redfish, Trout, Snapper, and Grouper are just a few of the fish species found here.

Pennsylvania:

The Conestoga River, located in beautiful Lancaster County, is home to a variety of fish species including smallmouth bass, carp, rock bass and bluegill, and is also home to Thousand Trails Circle M.

Texas:

Wanna fish where the serious fisherpeople go? Book a stay at Thousand Trails Lake Conroe and tackle the “bass fishing capital of the world.” In addition to the bass, Lake Conroe has channel catfish and bluegill.

Virginia:

Grey’s Point Camp has a perfect location on the Rappahannock River and fish running in this area of the river include both large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, crappie and herring! Thousand Trails Chesapeake Bay is another great Virginia campground for a fishing/camping trip – the campground is located on the banks of the Piankatank River and great for freshwater fishing for catfish, sunfish and pickerel.

Wisconsin:

Neshonoc Lakeside Campground in West Salem, Wisconsin is a great place to camp and fish. Fish from the shore or enjoy throwing in a line from your boat on the lake and try your luck for panfish, largemouth bass or northern pike. Yukon Trails Camping Resort in Lyndon Station is another Wisconsin campground with a lake – this one is Wonder Lake and is great fishing for muskie, pike and walleye, to name a few.

Of course, there are many more campgrounds and many more fish to be found so check out thousandtrails.com to see which campgrounds have onsite fishing opportunities.
