Adirondack Stained Glass Works (NY)
The fall colors are certainly a gift when camping in the Adirondacks in autumn. But campers who spend fall at our Lake George campgrounds will also appreciate the gifts that can be found at Adirondack Stained Glass Works in nearby Gloversville. Lamps, mirrors, and beautiful stained glass ornaments can be found here, including unique snowflakes. The store is open Mondays through Saturday. CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles (CA)
More than 130 artisans display their works, ranging from jewelry to apparel, plus ceramics, sculpture, pop art, illustrations, and photography, in this cool shop housed in 1940s-era warehouses. Peddler’s Village (PA)
If you’re enjoying fall camping in our Pennsylvania Dutch Country campgrounds, take a drive and head to Peddler’s Village in beautiful Bucks County. Peddlers Village is home to more than 60 specialty shops where you can find one of a kind handcrafted items including German clocks, ceramics, fine art, and jewelry. Pike Place Market (WA)
Pike Place Market in Seattle has been around since 1907 and has much more than fish and flowers to offer its visitors. The nine-acre market has more than 220 independently owned stores and features works and wares by more than 150 craftspeople. Book a stay at Tall Chief RV & Camping Resort and get ready to shop ‘til you drop. Perhaps a handmade ceramic tiny fairy house? Or, a one-of-a-kind porcelain windchime imprinted with leaves the artists finds in the Pacific Northwest? Outlet Malls
Outlet malls are known for slashing retail prices to give shoppers a better deal than if they’d shopped the regular retail stores for a specific brand like Coach, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Gap, or
J. Crew. According to vacationidea.com, some of the best outlet malls in the U.S. include Allen Premium Outlets in Allen, Texas (about an hour’s drive from Bay Landing RV Campground); Dolphin Mall in Miami (about 30 miles from Miami Everglades RV Resort); The Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg (near Drummer Boy Camping Resort and Gettysburg Farm RV Campground); and Gurnee Mills (less than 80 miles from Pine Country RV & Camping Resort).
Arts and Crafts Festivals
Some of the best arts and craft fairs are scheduled over the next several months, providing a great opportunity to find the perfect gift. Several are listed below by state:
California:
December 3-4: Handmade Holiday Crafts Fair in Santa Rosa. The 47th annual event features over 90 local artists selling their works, which includes everything from gourmet foods to home décor and jewelry. The fair is held at the Finley Community Center, which is about 30 minutes from Russian River RV Campground.
Florida:
November 5-6: 25th Annual Spanish Springs Art & Craft Festival at The Villages. This event features handcrafted leather goods, paintings, glassworks, and more. Admission is free. The Villages are about 40 minutes from our Orlando RV Resort.
Oregon:
December 1-4: 2022 Portland Holiday Night Market. Local artisans will be selling handcrafted items, plus music and food at this event. Camp at Portland Fairview RV Park to enjoy this market.
South Carolina:
December 10: Annual Holiday Market and Craft Show, Mt. Pleasant. Event features handmade gifts from local artisans including glass work, ornaments, and whimsical crafts, plus fresh produce and homemade preserves. The event is about 75 miles from The Oaks at Point South RV Campground.
