Celebrate the Season at a September Festival

Technically, once the calendar flips to September you still have roughly 21 days left of summer as the first official day of autumn begins Monday, September 22nd. So, looking to September camping getaways, you’re either planning a last of summer hurrah or a let’s roll into fall trip. Whichever way you look at it, here are some September events to not miss:

Key West, Florida is hopping in September with several festivals including the Key West Brewfest 2025 scheduled for August 28-September 1. The event will feature over 60 vendors and more than 225 brews for tasting plus live entertainment and beer pairing dinners. If you’re a fan of the music of the late Jimmy Buffett, plan to be in Key West during the Just a Few Friends Festival set for August 29-September 1. The festival honors the memory of Buffet, his music and his island lifestyle vibes. (Book a colorful cottage at Encore Fiesta Key or a tiny house at Encore Sunshine Key. Foodies will want to make note that the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival begins August 28 and runs through November 22nd. The event features Global Marketplaces as well as culinary events celebrating six different continents. A concert series will also run in conjunction with the event. The Dollywood Harvest Festival, at Tennessee’s Dollywood begins September 12 and runs through October 27. The event will feature The Great Pumpkin Luminights, arts and crafts, seasonal food and of course, rides and all the Dollywood attractions. Want to ring out summer or ring in fall German-style? Head to Cincinnati, Ohio for the largest Oktoberfest held in the US – Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is scheduled for September 18-21 and promises enough oompah fun to last through fall! Plan on competitions, games, German music and food and the World’s Largest Chicken Dance (September 19). (Book a stay at Thousand Trails Wilmington to camp near this event.)

The Adirondack Balloon Festival, set for September 18-21, is all about hot air balloons and the beautiful fall colors of the region. Don’t miss this event which will also feature a craft fair, live entertainments, kids’ activities and food vendors.
