Spend Spring Break at these Sunny Hot Spots

Spend Spring Break at these Sunny Hot Spots

Where do you plan on spending the last days of winter? Spring rolls in on March 20 but that doesn’t mean the whole U.S. will be experiencing warm winds and sunnier skies just yet. Get that last blast of a fun in the sun getaway and head to these great destinations:

Florida

It doesn’t have to be the sands of Daytona where the serious spring-breakers go. Instead consider these sunny alternatives:

Okeechobee KOA Resort: The resort itself has plenty of things to do including a golf course, putting green, swimming pool, and bocce and pickleball courts. And, beautiful Lake Okeechobee is nearby for great freshwater fishing and boating fun.

Miami Everglades Resort: Set among mango, avocado, and palm trees, take a tropical getaway while being just 30 minutes from all the fun of Miami. Everglades National Park is also nearby if you’re looking to take a cool airboat ride through these wild and wonderful wetlands.

Southern Palms: Centrally located in the Sunshine State, Southern Palms is less than 40 miles from the attractions of Orlando and onsite amenities include pickleball, bocce, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. Aside from the theme parks of Orlando, things to do here include Lake May Reserve and the Eustis Historical Museum.

Breezy Hill: If you want to take a peek at the serious spring breakers, then Breezy Hill is a good spot for a March trip, as it’s just a few short miles from the beaches of the Atlantic. If you’re down to fish, don’t miss the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier, a 976-foot pier that attracts visitors and serious fishermen alike annually. Strolling the Deerfield Beach Arboretum is another option which features 200 exotic trees from around the world spread around nine lush acres.

Tranquility Lakes: The beaches of Fort Myers are one reason to book a spring stay here. The others include all the things to see and do like the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, the Cape Coral Farmers Market every Saturday, and the Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve, which is the second largest preserved green space in Cape Coral and has great boardwalks for strolling while catching glimpses of wildlife.

Arizona

Springtime in Arizona is a great time to visit. Weather is a moderate 65 degrees and the wildflowers are in bloom so outdoor activity is the way to spend your days here.

Both Encore Meridian and Encore Mesa Spirit are less than 40 miles from Scottsdale and Phoenix attractions. Catch some Major League Baseball Cactus League spring training games that will be played in and around the area through the last week of March. This time of year is also wildflower season, so find a spot that offers some great exercise amongst the blooms like the McDowell Sonoran Preserve or the Phoenix Sonoran Preserve. Architecture lovers will appreciate the tours at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West (franklloydwright.org) while those that love a good cactus will definitely appreciate a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden.

Voyager RV is another Arizona option located in Tucson. A Tuscon Top 5 To Do list might include Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter, Biosphere 2 at the University of Arizona, hiking and bird watching in Madera Canyon, the amazing Saguaro National Park, or one of the unique bike tours offered through Tucson Bike Tours like the taco tour, the mural tour, or the historic tour (tucsonbiketours.com).
