The South – a term that’s ages old and technically, according to Britannica.com, is comprised of 17 states. It is also associated with year-round temps warmer than those of their northern neighbors and, of course, southern hospitality which is comprised of six characteristics including charm, kindness, and good home-cooking. Our campgrounds are well-represented here with locations in 9 of those afore-mentioned 17 states. Come see for yourself what this southern hospitality is all about!
Alabama: Hidden Cove RV Resort represents in Alabama. Located in Arley on the shores of Lewis Smith Lake, the campground has RV and tent sites as well as rental accommodations. Nearby attractions include Rickwood Caverns State Park, the Natural Bridge, and the Crooked Creek Civil War Museum.
Florida: Way too many to mention here so check out thousandtrails.com to see all the Florida offerings but know that you can stay north, south, east, west, and central in the Sunshine State. There are Gulf Coast locations, Atlantic Coast locations, and Florida Keys spots. Visit the theme parks in Orlando, the Everglades, the Space Coast, the beaches of Daytona, Fort Myers, Tampa/St. Pete, and more.
Georgia: Plan to explore Pine Mountain, Georgia, which is about an hour from Atlanta and 45 minutes from Columbus. Nearby attractions include the magnificent Callaway Gardens, The Little White House, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt State Park while Atlanta draws include World of Coca Cola and the College Football Hall of Fame.
Kentucky: Diamond Caverns in Park City is the camping spot when visiting the Bluegrass State. Louisville is about an hour’s drive (Churchill Downs, the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory and the Louisville Zoo) while the famed Mammoth Cave National Park is just down the road from the campground.
North Carolina: There are thirteen campgrounds here with inland and coastal options – all convenient to the best of the best in North Carolina. From beaches to mountains, plus charming towns like Asheville and Beaufort – it’s all available when camping with us here.
South Carolina: Two beautiful campgrounds to choose from when making South Carolina your camping getaway. Inland, at the foothills of the Appalachians, is Carolina Landing in Fair Play. Attractions include Lake Hartwell State Park, the South Carolina Botanical Garden and Clemson University. The Oaks at South Point is a great choice if you’re looking to spend time visiting southern charmers like Charleston and Savannah.
Tennessee: Three options in Tennessee – all with their own charm. Natchez Trace is a great option if Nashville is on the agenda, while Cherokee Landing puts you in proximity to Memphis. Another Tennessee spot, Pigeon Forge Landing, is a great place to enjoy the Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood, and all the attractions of Gatlinburg.
Texas: The number of campgrounds here, just like the state, is a big one. Twenty Texas camping options, most near or on a lake for some great fishing and watersport fun. Several are conveniently located near top Texas cities like Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Plus, some great options for Winter Texans (age-qualified) near South Padre Island.
Virginia: Heading to the Commonwealth of Virginia? We’ve got seven campgrounds to choose from. If Colonial Williamsburg is on your itinerary, choose Williamsburg RV. Oyster lover? Choose Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna – the “Oyster Capital of the East Coast.” Chesapeake Bay is great for watersports, fishing and crabbing while Harbor View has some great historical attractions and wonderful beaches.
