Hot Fun in the Wintertime

Florida is a favorite cold-weather destination thanks to the warm temperatures and sunny days, but we found a few other reasons to travel to Florida as winter sets in. And, with camping locations available on both coasts, as well as Central Florida, there are plenty of places to make your home base while you check out these events.

Beginning November 11, the Walt Disney World Resort® kicks off the holidays with all kinds of fun. EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays starts November 25 while Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on select nights at the Magic Kingdom. Main Street U.S.A. will be decked out for the holidays and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will feature sing-alongs and a Santa Claus Motorcade. Enjoy a stay at Tropical Palms RV Resort, Lake Magic RV Resort, or Orlando RV Resort while taking in the magic of these holiday events.

If your Florida vacation is cutting into your holiday shopping time, don’t despair. Head to the Key West Artisan Market to check out what gifts you can find. The event will be held at Higgs Beach November 6 and 20, and December 4 and 18. Paintings, glass work, mosaics, jewelry, pottery, and more will be available, plus there will be live entertainment and food and beverages. Another shopping opportunity to check out is the Island Art Festival, scheduled for Saturday, November 26, on Big Pine Key. Fifty artisans will display their works at this event which will also have live music and food. Plan to visit Sunshine Key RV Resort while knocking out your holiday shopping, and finish the day with a cold beverage by sunset on the dock.

Celebrate winter Florida-style at the 2022 Cocoa Beach Winterfest, set for Saturday, December 3. The event will feature a holiday parade, live music, food trucks, and of course, Mr. December, Santa himself. Make Space Coast RV Resort your home base while enjoying the Cocoa Beach Winterfest.

St. Augustine – Nights of Lights

St. Augustine gets all dressed up for the season with its Nights of Lights, with over a million twinkling lights illuminating our nation’s oldest city. Beginning November 19 with the kick-off event, Light-Up! Night and running through January 31, 2023, this is a magical experience not to be missed. The city will also host a Christmas Parade on December 3 and the Holiday Regatta of Lights, a spectacular lighted boat parade, on December 10. Stay at Bulow RV Resort while experiencing this holiday extravaganza.

Enjoy some great blues music at the Bradenton Blues Festival, scheduled for Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3. Held at the Bradenton Riverwalk Pavilion at Rossi Park, a fantastic line-up of great blues artists as well as food and drink combine to make this one great event. Enjoy Terra Ceia RV Resort or Winter Quarters Manatee while experiencing the Bradenton Blues Festival.
