The Newest Thousand Trails Campground: Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch

Introducing: Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch!

Lucky campers who have a Thousand Trails Camping Pass with the Southwest Zone, a National Camping Pass, or an upgraded membership will soon have the option to camp in beautiful Colorado.

We are happy to welcome Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch in Gunnison, Colorado, into the Thousand Trails family of membership campgrounds. Camping adventures at Blue Mesa will be available May 1 and the season will run through October 1. If you haven’t camped in Colorado, you are in for quite an experience when it comes to unparalleled outdoor activities, breathtaking scenery, and living it up mountain-style.

Blue Mesa Recreational Ranch has all the amenities you’ve come to expect when it comes to camping with Thousand Trails. There’s a clubhouse, swimming pool, and sports courts, including basketball and horseshoes. Plus, there’s mini golf, a playground, a billiards and game room, and fishing opportunities. And, it’s pet friendly!

Nearby, there’s Black Canyon National Park for great hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing and Curecanti National Recreation Area, also great for fishing, boating, birdwatching, hiking, and horseback riding. Gunnison is a college town so there’s a cool vibe when you visit the downtown area to enjoy the shops and restaurants. Annual festivals in Gunnison and their neighboring town of Crested Butte include the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival, scheduled for July 8-17 this year, and Gunnison’s annual Cattlemen’s Days, considered the “Granddaddy of all Rodeos” set for July 14-16, 2022. Crested Butte also has a Fine Arts Festival every August and a Film Festival in September. For more information about things to do in these two towns, visit gunnisoncrestedbutte.com
