Some of us may be waiting patiently for all this white stuff to go away but there are some who love snow all year long. Or maybe you didn’t get your fill this winter and want one last longing look, as well as a trip down a snowy hill. We’ve found a few spots where you can find still find snow even though the calendar says it’s springtime.
Head to Lake Tahoe and enjoy skiing in the sunshine as the temps warm up a bit but there is still plenty of snow. Book a stay at Tahoe Valley RV Resort and choose from several ski slopes in the area including Heavenly, which is the largest and highest ski area in Lake Tahoe. Squaw Valley, which boasts an Olympic heritage (1960 Winter Olympics) and is the largest ski resort in California is another option when staying at Tahoe Valley.
Yosemite National Park still offers skiing and other winter sports in March but cautions that anyone looking for snow sports should visit before April. Yosemite’s Badger Pass Ski Area, which is the oldest ski resort in California has groomed trails for cross-country skiing as well as lifts for those who want to downhill ski and snowboard. Book a stay at Yosemite Lakes in nearby Groveland, which is just five miles from the Yosemite entrance, and get in some early spring snow fun!
If you’re staying with us at Mt. Hood Village in Welches, Oregon this March, you’re in the right place. According to snowbrains.com, Mt. Hood offers some of the best skiing in March. In fact, thanks to its elevation, Mt. Hood offers snow skiing year-round. Check out options for snow sports at the Timberline Lodge, the National Historic Landmark built in 1938.
Washington’s Snoqualmie Pass offers lessons, rentals, and most importantly, snow! They even offer a Spring-Fling pass for ski deals beginning March 14 to the end of ski season, boasting its one of the best periods to ski thanks to “deep snow, good vibes, and sunshine.” Snowshoeing and snow-tubing are also options here. Plan to stay at Tall Chief in nearby Fall City and you’re about 40 minutes from Snoqualmie and all the spring snow fun.
