One Cool July

One Cool July!

July is a hot month. In fact, according to the National Climate Report, the contiguous U.S. average temperature in July 2020 was 75 degrees. Now, some states have hotter averages than others in, but in general, come July people are looking to cool off somehow. One of the best ways to cool down is to hit the water – so we’ve got some water fun near our campgrounds to help you make your July pretty cool!

Ponderosa RV Resort in Lotus, California, comes complete with its own river! Located on the banks of the South Fork of the American River, the campground is perfect for water fun. Raft, swim, or kayak the River for water fun in the July sun. Or check out the white-water rafting expeditions offered by All Outdoors (aorafting.com) to get up close and personal with the thrills of the South Fork of the American River.

If you enjoy the heat, consider Las Vegas in July and make a reservation to stay at Las Vegas RV Resort. Cool off opportunities abound in the nearby Lake Mead National Recreation Area where there are plenty of boating and fishing opportunities. Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas is another great way to get your cool on – this waterpark has plenty of tube water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a body water slide. Or check out Lake Las Vegas which has an Aqua Park and plenty of rentals for electric boats, kayaks, and paddleboards. Ready, get set, get wet!

Don’t just take a swim this July – add a few aquatic friends into the mix and visit Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. Here you can swim with the dolphins and feed the rays with a trainer. Check out discoverycove.com for details. And while you’re in the neighborhood, see what Aquatica Orlando is all about. Named Orlando’s Best Water Park by the Orlando Sentinel, this water park has plenty of water-based thrill rides, including the newest Rip Tide Race, billed as the World’s Tallest Dueling Racer! Orlando RV Resort is the perfect place to make camp.

With more than 20 waterparks in the area, it’s no wonder the Wisconsin Dells are considered the unofficial waterpark capital of the world! Visit here and you’ll never be too hot to have fun on the combined 200 waterslides, not to mention a Duck ride on nearby Lake Delton. Noah’s Ark has the distinction of being the oldest and the biggest waterpark in The Dells. Stay at Yukon Trails RV & Camping Resort and you’ll be so close to the water fun you just might get splashed!

Medina Lake RV Campground

Speaking of waterparks, one of the world’s best waterparks is located near Medina Lake RV Campground in Texas. The setting of the park in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas just adds to the park’s popularity. They have private cabanas available for day rentals, plus so many water-based thrill rides, like the Black Knight, the Bahnzai Pipeline, and the AquaVeyer.
