2021 Resolution: Get Out and Camp

Certainly, your resolutions for the new year should include things that are good for you, make you happy, and add value to your life. We think all those add up to a resolution to camp more in the new year. Here are a few ways to round out your resolution to Get Out and Camp!

Yosemite Lakes RV Campground

Go Glamping: If you haven’t tried this popular trend, you’re missing out. Basically, all you need to find is a campground that offers accommodations unique to the average camper. We’ve got unique accommodations such as yurts, cozy cabins, cottages, tiny homes and even covered wagons and teepees. Head to Rancho Oso RV Campground in Santa Barbara, California, for the one-of-a-kind teepee or covered wagon experience. A yurt can be yours in California, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wisconsin. Tiny homes can be found in Cottonwood, Arizona; South Hampton, New Hampshire; Leavenworth, Washington, Welches, Oregon; and in Big Pine Key, Florida, at the start of 2020. Cozy cottages can be enjoyed in California, Florida, and Maine while rustic cabins can be enjoyed in nine different states!

Lake Minden RV Campground

Catch the Big One: Fishing opportunities abound in and near the Thousand Trails campgrounds, so you’ve got plenty of places to drop your line. Consider Midwest resorts like St. Clair RV Campground in Michigan for freshwater fishing to catch bluegill and northern pike and Wisconsin’s Yukon Trails RV Campground for onsite fishing for perch and bass.  If salmon is your game, head to Thunderbird RV Campground in Washington. Of course, Lake Texoma is known for its prolific population of striped bass so stay at our Texas location, Lake Texoma RV Campground if you’re a bass master, or a wanna-be. Hidden Cove RV Campground sits on the shores of Alabama’s Lewis Smith Lake so it has all the fishing amenities you could hope for, including a pier, boat slips, and a dock house. California’s Lake Minden RV Campground is home to a 41-acre lake stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish.

Bend-Sunriver RV Campground

Climb a Mountain: If you’ve got a list of mountains to tackle, we’ve got the mountains waiting for you. Stay in Bar Harbor and see if you can climb 60-foot Otter Cliff or to the top of Cadillac Mountain to catch a spectacular sunrise. Three Bar Harbor resorts (Narrows Too and Mt. Desert Narrows) are all convenient to Acadia National Park. The Adirondacks present plenty of climbing options from the Sleeping Beauty Mountain Loop to the difficult French Point Mountain. Lake George Escape and Alpine Lake RV Campground offer a great base camp for exploring the mountains there.  On the West Coast, consider Oregon’s Mt. Bachelor (stay at Bend-Sunriver RV Campground) and Mt. Hood (stay at Mt. Hood RV Campground) and Washington’s Cascade Range (Mt. Vernon RV Campground is a good place to make camp).
