Whether you start playing holiday music right after Halloween or wait a suitable amount of time before the holiday (all based on individual tastes – no judgement here), the sounds of the season can really put you in a festive mood. Another role these memorable tunes can play is to help plan your holiday camping trips. Check out some ideas:

Let It Snow:  If this is your favorite song, you may want to head to Leavenworth, Washington, this season, where snow is king and holiday festivities are certainly royalty, as well. From skiing at Stevens Pass to snowshoeing in Lake Wenatchee State Park, snow is the reason for the season here. From a party standpoint, don’t miss the Christmas Lighting Festival, held each weekend (beginning December 8 through December 22) where the town lights up, welcomes Santa and his friends, and offers all kinds of magical musical performances including hand bell choirs. Leavenworth RV Campground is the perfect home base for all the snowy fun.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer:  You know this one by heart and we’ve found an event where you can get up close and personal with Santa’s fleet.  Visit Cougar Mountain Zoo’s Reindeer Festival in Issaquah, Washington (just about 15 minutes from Tall Chief RV Campground). The event, scheduled to kick off on December 1, promises the opportunity to feed the reindeer as well as other holiday festivities. Visit www.cougarmountainzoo.org for more information.

Sleigh Ride: Winter is lovely weather for a sleigh ride together and luckily from Thanksgiving through February, visitors to Bend, Oregon, can explore the beauty of the area with a magical sleigh ride along the Deschutes River.  Available through the Sunriver Resort, this is a wonderful winter experience. For reservations and pricing, call (541) 593-6995. Bend-Sunriver RV Campground is the perfect place to stay to enjoy this winter treat.

Orlando RV Campground

Fort Wilderness, at Florida’s Disney World, offers holiday sleigh rides through the woodlands of the resort. Throughout December, visitors can enjoy a ride in a cozy sleigh decked out in festive garland and lights. Visit www.disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/holiday-sleigh-rides for details. Several Thousand Trails locations are conveniently located to Disney, including Orlando RV Campground.

Jingle Bells: Oh, what fun indeed it will be to check out some of these jingle-bell themed events around the country:

Jingle Bell Bazaar, Ybor City, Florida: Set for Sunday, December 15, a whole day of festive events are planned in this historic Florida city. There will be more than 70 craft and product vendors, live music, and delicious Latin food. Of course, Santa will make a visit, too! The event will run from noon to 6 p.m. in Centennial Park. For details, visit www.jinglebellbazaarybor.com. Either Peace River or Three Flags RV Campground can be a great place to stay if you’re planning to enjoy this event. San Diego Zoo Jungle Bells, San Diego, California: Beginning December 13, the San Diego Zoo will celebrate the season by transforming the zoo into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights, live entertainment and festive foods. This annual event features a ride on the Polar Express, a Twinkle Light Trolley and a special reading of the classic story, The Night Before Christmas, by Dr. Zoolittle. Settle in at Pio Pico RV Campground to attend this event.
