Thousand Trails celebrated 50 years in 2019 and because it was such a milestone, we chose to celebrate all year long, making every day a reason to revel in hitting the big 5-0! All kinds of events were planned in addition to the everyday fun you find when staying with us.
A few of the special events included the distribution of the commemorative 50th anniversary pins which were given to campers on June 21. It was great to see campers proudly displaying those pins and celebrating the milestone with us. Then, in July, we prepared for the next major milestone in the way of a time capsule. We asked everyone that was staying at a Thousand Trails campground during the weekend of July 26-28 to bring an item to contribute to the time capsule, which included photos, camping gear and letters to future campers.
Can you imagine the year 2069 when the next 50 years is celebrated – which will actually mark 100 fabulous years of camping – when the camper of the future makes contact with the camper of the past via the time capsule items! For sure, the way in which we camp will have changed and of course, the camping gear, as well as the RV, will most likely have changed in ways we may not even be able to imagine now. But one thing that remains the same, whether it’s camping in 1969, 2019 or 2069 – camping creates memories which are timeless!
So, thanks for celebrating with us and thanks for giving us 50 years! And remember, everyday is a celebration when you’re outdoors, camping with friends and family and staying at your favorite Thousand Trails campground.

Wow! That’s a whole lot of fun packed into 365 days! Now, multiply that by 50 years and we’ve got quite a history (and a future) of bringing people together to camp, make memories, and make the best of this life we live. Here’s to 50 more!
