Salem, MA, may be one of the most historical places to celebrate Halloween. Famous for the Salem Witch Trials, this town also has hundreds of events happening throughout the month of October to celebrate Halloween! We think you’ll enjoy touring the Salem Wax Museum of Witches & Seafarers: Salem’s Original ghost tour, and the haunted walking tours held daily near the museum, as well. Be sure to also check out the film showings, visit the psychics, and tour the haunted houses. Salem, MA, is located about 1.5- 2 hours from Old Chatham Road RV Campground and Sturbridge.

Located about an hour and forty minutes from Rondout Valley, is Sleepy Hollow, NY, where Washington Irving’s famous scary story, The Legend of the Headless Horseman, takes place. All month long the town hosts scary events including a Sleepy Hollow Cemetery lantern tour, haunted hayrides, and the famous Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, where you can see over 7,000 hand-carved illuminated jack-o’-lanterns on display. The Blaze is a ticketed event and goes until mid-November. Don’t forget to check out this year’s very first “A Taste of Sleepy Hollow” on Saturday, October 22, from 12-6PM featuring the foods, art, and music of Sleepy Hollow!

  1. St. Helen’s, OR

  1. Los Angeles, CA

It is no surprise that Los Angeles, CA, would be one of the best places to dress up and celebrate Halloween! Find yourself walking or driving around this city on October 31 and you will be sure to see some of the best Halloween decorations and costumes on the West Coast. Take one of the scariest haunted hayrides in the county or visit the Spadena House aka The Witch House in Beverly Hills which is known for it’s dilapidated design and has appeared in several movies. Los Angeles, CA, is within a 2-hour drive from Soledad Canyon, Rancho Oso, Wilderness Lakes, and Idyllwild.
