Visit Palm Springs This Winter!

While it may be freezing in most of the country, Palm Springs in California is an oasis for anyone seeking a reprieve from the cold. Palm Springs is the perfect destination for anyone seeking some sun and a bit of cultural fun.

This January, celebrities, producers, and movie-lovers flock to Palm Springs for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The festival will screen 190 movies from over 70 different countries, plus, there will be events galore. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled around town to spot familiar faces you’ve seen on screen at local Palm Springs thrift stores, film screenings, and restaurants! Palm Springs has a history of being an escape for Hollywood’s elite. People like Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant would come to Palm Springs for meetings and to enjoy the remote atmosphere of the desert, an oft-needed reprieve from the bustling and hustling of Hollywood. Catch today’s celebs at Melvyn’s Restaurant, which was once a regular spot for Sinatra. The Palm Springs International Film Festival will continue until January 15.

Also upcoming in February in Palm Springs is the Palm Springs Art Festival, taking place from February 16-19 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, which is located just 20 minutes from the Palm Springs Oasis RV Resort (Encore) and about 30 minutes from the Palm Springs RV Campground (Thousand Trails). The festival is in its sixth year and coincides with Palm Springs Modernism Week. There will be an opening night reception on February 15 and visitors will be able to browse art, purchase, and interact with artist throughout the festival.
